This week’s topic is: Who is an author (or two or three) you aspire to write like? What is it you admire about their work or their writing style? Are there any similarities between you and your writing role model(s)?
It’s impossible just to pick one or two authors that I absolutely love. I mean, there are so many. I read as much as I can – and have read about 25 books in the last 2 months alone. So I’ll just pick a few authors that I have come to admire over the years.
1.) Jenny B. Jones ~ if you’ve never read any of her books, go to Amazon and order them all. Now. I’ll wait. Okay, you done? Good. You won’t regret it. Jenny has a way with words, and I can’t get enough of her books. If she’d get a new one published every month, you’d bet I’d be one of the first in line to purchase it! She is fun, quirky, and her books are just plain fun to read!
2.) Morgan Matson ~ Kylie actually introduced me to this author a few months ago by telling me to read Since You’ve Been Gone. Once I did, I was hooked. I have all her books now. Another author who just knows how to right a dang good story.
Although, I aspire to be like anyone who has actually had a book published – whether I liked that book or not. 🙂 I can’t imagine how good it must feel to have your words in print.
